These maps show the level of homelessness and housing stress across our community in 2016. Since then, we have seen many more people at risk of homelessness due to the COVID pandemic. Renters are facing unprecedented difficulty trying to find a home, which will only get worse when the moratorium on rent increases and evictions ends in March 2021.
There are over 15,700 WA households (around 30,000 people) on the housing waiting list, and the WA Government plans to create just 260 new homes a year to meet this demand.
We must unlock housing opportunities for people experiencing housing stress and at risk of homelessness.
